Three reading systems, one corpus of 332 pieces: within-family correlations around 0.09, family orderings that disagree pairwise, a first principal component explaining only 0.407 of the variance. Two of the seven preregistered tests were wrecked by the author’s own instrument faults, self-exposed and turned into operating rules.
